A slice of hamachi crudo lifted on a fork

About

A brasserie, on the second floor.

European elegance shared at the table: crafted plates, curated wines, and no interest at all in making you feel underdressed.

Bottles racked on their sides in the cellar, each shelf tagged with its vintage

About us

A serious cellar in an unserious postcode.

Blu Brasserie is a French and European kitchen on the second floor of the Mercado District in McAllen. The room seats a few dozen. The cellar holds six thousand bottles.

That imbalance is the whole idea. We cook brasserie food properly and pour wine that has no business being this far south, and we do it without a dress code, a tasting-menu lecture, or a reservation you need to make a month out. Walk in if you like.

Who cooks, who pours

Four people you will probably meet.

The kitchen runs on French technique and long sauces. The cellar runs on argument. Between them they decide what lands on your table, and they would rather do that in person than leave it to a menu.

Come by

Come and see the cellar.

Dinner runs Tuesday to Saturday, five until eleven. The cellar is a few steps from every table, and nobody minds if you go and look.
